Party accused of sharp practices

By Ahmad Tukur

The Nasarawa State Interim Chairman of All Progressive Congress, APC, Stanley Buba, has warned members of the party against making inflammatory and unguarded comments.

Mr. Buba, who stated this in Lafia, said such unguarded statements would be inimical and capable of causing disunity in the party.

The chairman was reacting to a statement credited to a party leader in Nasarawa Local Government Area, Sani Bawa, who alleged sharp practices in the ongoing registration exercise of the party in the area.

Mr. Buba described the allegation by Mr. Bawa as unfortunate considering the latter’s antecedents as a lawyer and politician. The chairman warned that the party would sanction anyone who tried to undermine it irrespective of their status.

“What I just see is the problem of ego and ambition. Some people have ego and some people have political ambition,” Mr. Buba said.

He  explained that the on-going membership registration was among the mandate given to the state interim committee by its national secretariat as such measures were put in place to ensure the smooth conduct of the exercise without any compromise.

Mr. Buba described the on-going membership registration exercise as a huge success and said that the party would accommodate all who wished to work with it.
