Nigeria remains grateful to fallen heroes, says Governor Wamakko

Mr. Wamakko said Nigeria has remained united because of its fallen heroes
Governor Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto State on Monday said Nigeria would remain grateful to its fallen heroes because of the sacrifices they made to keep it united.

Mr. Wamakko made the remarks in Sokoto at the launch of the 2014 Armed Forces Remembrance Emblem.

He said, “Nigeria has remained united as the fallen heroes gallantly fought to keep the country one.

“The fallen heroes and those who are surviving would continue to be fondly remembered for their diligence and selfless service to the nation.’’

The governor commended the various security agencies for sustaining peace, unity and harmonious co-existence among people in the state.

He added that “security agencies have been working round-the-clock to ensure the safety of lives and property in the state.’’

The governor also commended the people of Adamawa State for being law abiding and peaceful ;and pledged the government’s continued efforts to protect lives and property.

More than N6.5 million was collected at the event, with the highest donation of N2 million from the state government.

The Chief Launcher, Sahabi Bojo, donated N1 million.
