Pledges solidarity with Kano governor to resist intimidation
A faction of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, NGF, led by the Plateau State governor, Jonah Jang, has challenged the security agencies to fish out the gunmen who attacked Musa Kwankwaso, the father of the Kano State Governor, Rabi’u Kwankwaso recently in Kwankwaso village.
In a statement by the media officer of the faction, Kassim Yakubu, on Thursday, Mr. Jang, who is also the governor of Plateau State, said the forum would stand in solidarity with the Kano State governor following the incident.
The governor’s father who is the district head of Kwankwaso escaped unhurt when some gunmen attacked a mosque where they were worshipping. Three persons were killed during the attack.
The faction condemned the incident and extended his sympathy to the families of those who lost their lives during the attack.
They reassured Mr. Kwankwaso who belongs to the NGF headed by the Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Amaechi, that they are in solidarity with him (Kwankwaso) in resisting any form of intimidation in performing his duties as governor.
The Kano state governor was among the five governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
