Ribadu asks Nigerians not to be deceived by PDP
The presidential candidate of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria in 2011, Nuhu Ribadu, on Friday said that the reason Nigerians were defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in droves was due to the public’s realisation that the ruling party is at war with them.
Mr. Ribadu, who was responding to questions from journalists in Yola, added that due to the rejection the party was suffering throughout the country, the PDP was now casting aspersion on the integrity of the APC. He urged his party members not to be deceived by the rants of the dying party.
“Nigerians should not be deceived by the aspersions and mischief being promoted by the PDP leadership against the APC, calling it an old wine in a new bottle. What they are saying is not true, they are blinded by their desperation to cause confusion because of the wind of change currently blowing in the country,” he said.
He said that the people defecting to APC were doing the bidding of Nigerians who want a change of government.
“Those that are defecting to APC are going to where Nigerians want them as that amounts to answering the clarion call of Nigerians for good governance and the entrenchment of the rule of law,” he said. “They are leaving the failed party that has relegated their aspirations to the background to a party that will salvage them from the current lackluster government that has nothing to show for the 13 years in power.”
