The University held a carol service.
Christians have been charged to reflect the life and teachings of Jesus Christ in their daily interactions and dealings.
The advice was given by Ademola Adeyi, the Chaplain of the Chapel of Faith, Federal University of Technology, Akure, FUTA, during the institution’s Carol Service which took place at its New Auditorium on December 19.
Mr. Adeyi, a reverend, who gave a short homily at the service, urged Christians to follow the footsteps of the three wise men that diligently sought and found baby Jesus and became part of the historic birth. He said it was important for individuals to be light bearers who will show the goodness and mercy of Jesus to the people around them.
In his remark, the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Adebiyi Daramola, said the occasion was put together in order for the FUTA community to key in into the season of goodwill heralded by the birth of Jesus. He said FUTA had a lot to be thankful for as can be seen in the remarkable milestones achieved by the institution in the course of 2013.
“Our students went to Calabar and came first in the competition organized by the Institute of Software Practitioners of Nigeria for the country’s universities. We have reasons to be grateful to God,” Mr. Daramola said.
