The son of the Chief of Defence Staff got married.
The Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, on Friday urged Nigerians to be God-conscious.
Mr. Maku gave the advice in Ilorin during the solemnisation of the Nikkah (Wedding) of Habib Kolade, the son of Ola Ibrahim, the Chief of Defence Staff.
He urged the couple, the guests and Nigerians to put God first in whatever they do.
“The fear of God will bring peace and joy to our dear nation and every home, irrespective of our religion,” the minister said.
He described Mr. Ibrahim, an Admiral, as a hard working officer, who has served and continues to serve his fatherland without looking back, adding “he is worth emulating’’.
In his sermon, Shuaibu Salman, the Chief Imam of Maraba Mosque, urged Nigerians to be prayerful and “have a change of heart for the good of the nation’’.
He urged the couple to love one another and use the Holy Quran as their guide.
Bashiru Soliu, the Chief Imam of Ilorin, who coordinated the ceremony, prayed to God to guide the new couple.
Habib married Saidat Omotola, the daughter of late Yahaya Madawaki.
Among those present at the occasion, were the National Security Adviser to the President, Sambo Dasuki; the Chief of Air Staff, Alex Gbade; Isa Aremu, NLC Vice President; and other top military officers.
