Premium Times correspondent emerges Ogun Best Crime Reporter

The award was presented by NUJ Ogun

The Ogun State correspondent of PREMIUM TIMES, Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji, has won the Ogun State Best Crime Reporter, 2013.

The award was presented to him on Saturday during the gala nite of the Press Week of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ogun State Council held at Quarry Hotels and Event Centre, Abeokuta.

Other journalists recognised for awards included: Razaq Ayinla of Business Day Newspaper – Best Print Journalist; Seyi Edunjobi of Ogun State Television – Best Parliamentary Reporter; Toyin Oluwa of National Orientation Agency- Best Orientation officer; Wole Otayemi of Ogun State Television – Best Sports Reporter; and Waliat Odemakin of the Ministry of Information – Best Information Officer.

Rafiu Alarape of Silverbird won Best Cameraman, Femi Afolabi of Nigeria Television Authority won Best TV Journalist, Dada Olanipekun of Prestige Newspaper won Best Community Reporter, and Daud Olatunji of Vanguard Newspaper won the NUJ Chairman Resourcefulness Award.

Other awards included the Best Media Friendly award which was conferred on a member of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Adijat Adeleye-Oladapo.

The Chairman of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area, Rotimi Rahmon, bagged Most Resourceful Chairman while his Ifo Local Government counterpart, Oluwole Enilolobo, won Best Chairman on Empowerment Programme.

The Ogun State Government was presented with the Corporate Award on Quality Leadership on Security and Infrastructural Development.

The union also upgraded one of its patrons, the Iyalode of Yorubaland, Alaba Lawson, to Grand Patroness and appointed a Federal Lawmaker, Abiodun Akinlade, and a business mogul, Kessington Adebutu, as patrons.
