The Kaduna-based police corporal is accused of murder.
The Kaduna State Police Command has confirmed the detention of one of its personnel, a Police Corporal, accused of killing a graduate.
The Police Commissioner, Olufemi Adenaike, said the corporal, who was alleged to have shot to death one Murtala Aminu on September 29, would undergo orderly room trial.
Mr. Adenaike called on those that witnessed the shooting to come forward and testify to ensure justice.
‘The policeman is in the cell and he is being tried by the room and I am sure by Friday he will no longer be a policeman if found guilty.
”He is going to be dismissed and after dismissal we are going to charge him to court for murder,” he said.
Mr. Adenaike, however, told journalists in Kaduna that that action to be taken by the command would depend on the testimonies of witnesses.
“If they don’t come out we will find it very difficult to prosecute him.
“The man said he was attacked, so the people who where there when this attack took place should come out and say something,” the commissioner said.
He assured that those willing to testify would be protected.
