A former governor of Ondo State, Olusegun Agagu, is dead.
He was 65, having been born on February 16, 1948.
Mr. Agagu slumped and died in his Lagos home on Friday evening, reports say.
The Commissioner of Information in Ondo during Mr. Agagu’s tenure as governor, Eddy Olafeso, confirmed his death to AIT television.
Mr. Agagu was Ondo governor from 2003 to 2009 when he was sacked by the Court of Appeal after his 2007 re-election was upturned and incumbent Ondo governor, Olusegun Mimiko, declared rightful winner.
Before his election as governor in 2003, Mr. Agagu was a former Minister of Power under President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Mr. Agagu was also a Minister for Aviation between 1999 and 2001.
