The ruling party held its NEC meeting on Thursday.
The Bauchi State Governor, Isa Yuguda, has described the 15 minutes National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party as a success.
The governor stated this while fielding questions from journalists at the State House, after meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan shortly after the NEC meeting.
He also assured that the rift in the Governors Forum was already being resolved and the crisis could be resolved before the National Economic Council meeting.
Mr. Yuguda, who met the president alongside Governor Ibrahim Dankwabo of Gombe, said the meeting lasted only 15 minutes because it was specifically convened to ratify the date for the forthcoming mini- convention of the party taking place in the south west next weekend.
He said this was an indication that all was now well with major stakeholders in the party.
“The meeting went on very well, very short and straight to the point. It was just for the ratification of the date for the convention, that was all,” he said.
The Bauchi governor said though ‘people were disturbed that it (the NEC meeting) lasted for only 15 minutes, it shows that the family is together and that everybody is working together.”
Mr. Yuguda said the problems among party leaders had been resolved, saying “we are now happy with one another. The family is together and if there was a problem, we would have stayed longer to solve it.”
