The couple marked their wedding silver jubilee.
Nigeria’s Central Bank governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, on Sunday conferred on his wife, Sadiya, a traditional title to mark the silver jubilee anniversary of their marriage.
The investiture of the title of Giwar Dan Maje which took place at their Nassarawa GRA residence in Kano on Sunday, was graced by friends and well-wishers of the couple from across Nigeria and beyond.
The occasion attracted Hausa traditional musicians of different sorts.
In a short speech at the occasion, the CBN Mr. Sanusi said his wife has been the centre of stability to the home in the last twenty-five years of their marriage.
He said that he decided to give her the title of Giwar Dan Maje to show his gratitude to Sadiya for the support she has been rendering to him since they became husband and wife.
