Though no one died in the storm, the destruction was enormous.
The Jigawa State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, on Monday said about 200 houses was destroyed by rainstorm on July 14 in Malamadori Council of the state.
The Executive Secretary of SEMA, Aliyu Waziri, said this in Dutse in an interview.
He said that the agency had mobilised its workers to render immediate assistance to the victims.
The secretary stated that “although no life was lost but the destruction done by the storm was enormous.
He said the areas mostly affected are: Kampala, Dunari, Sirinya and Sabongari.
Mr. Waziri noted that the state government had set up a seven-man committee to access the extent of damage by the rainstorm.
He added that the committee was headed by the state Deputy Governor, Ahmed Mahmoud.
