Confident Amaechi calls meeting of Nigeria Governors Forum

Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi

The meeting will hold on Wednesday night.

The Rivers State Governor and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, Rotimi Amaechi, has called for a meeting of the forum.

The meeting is expected to hold on Wednesday by 8:00 p.m. at the Rivers Governors Lodge, Abuja.

The invitation for the meeting was signed by one Chidinma Onyenalim, an aide to the forum chairman.

The meeting is the first to be called by Mr. Amaechi since his controversial re-election on May 24 at a governors’ meeting. The Rivers Governor had defeated Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau by 19 votes to 16 to emerge chairman. Mr. Jang, however, rejected the result, proclaimed himself chairman, and has since been presiding over meetings of a faction of governors loyal to him.

Mr. Amaechi, who has been suspended by the Peoples Democratic Party, is believed to command the loyalty of about 18 governors, although it is not clear if they’ll all attend the meeting.

Did u vote for the man who would have cleared the country of corruption? Where were u when the army sent late Gani to jail over 31 times? Did he not plead with u to give him the chance to reduce corruption and certificate forgery by Tinubu in 9ja? Instead u went about asking him for money b4 u vote for him! And because he refused to part with his hard earned money-u dumped your thieving leprosy fingers into the ballot box for OBJ!-Now u want ijaw man Jonathan to do your dirty works 4 u! To send him ati ibb, perhaps the spirit of late abacha and that of buhari to jail-when buhari sacked shagari was it not the yoruba governors who were in UPN with Awo that he sent to jail? How many fulanis did he force into prison? What about Ribadu? Can u name one that was escorted to jail apart from Alams of Bayelsa state? Are the Yorubas led by Tinubu, not falling over themselves to shake hands with Buhari today in the name of their socalled regional pact of 1914? Now u want Jonathan to clear the mess-Have u thanked him for sending the fuel subsidy rogues from the 3 regions of the country for trial? May be unaware that for Jonathan there would never have been any trial for them-don’t u know-they passed through the smelly babarigas of ibb and obj-17 years ago? Go and ask ribadu why he did not send the fulani gwabnors ati Amaechi to jail-mumu! Dont vote 4 Jonah if u like we want to secede-enough of the insults-from d yeye rulers of darknes in d tripod!

@deri: Com’on, you seem not be sounding as confident as you used to sound. What is happening? Have faith, deri. Take a cue from Jonathan, who is not bothered about winning the votes of Tinubu’s Yorubas or Ribadu’s Fulanis. With solid 100% votes from the South-south, he just needs a little additions here and there and he’s home and dry. I am an incurable optimist. It is GEJ for ever!

Una stop diverting citizen’s attention to baseless controversies. Who among the Governors have respect for our Constitution by respecting the sanctity of the civic right of Nigerian People. Governors must allow and hand over LG to the communities. Greedy people!!!
