The minister leads a delegation to the burial of Kontagora.
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Bala Mohammed, on Thursday led a delegation of officials representing the Federal Government to the burial of a former Minister of the FCT, Maman Kontagora, at the latter’shometown in Kontagora, Niger State.
In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Muhammad Sule, Mr. Mohammed described the death of Mr. Kontagora as “shocking, tragic and a monumental loss to the nation.”
Mr. Mohammed also commiserated with the immediate family of the deceased, residents of the FCT as well as the people and government of Niger State.
Mr. Mohammed, in his condolence message, noted that Mr. Kontagora’s tenure as FCT Minister witnessed “marvelous housing development,” which brought about great reduction in housing deficit in the FCT, and saw the infrastructural growth and development of satellite towns such as Gwagwalada.
He added that the nation will miss the qualitative and selfless service of Mr. Kontagora.
