A former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, on Monday announced his defection from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party to the yet-to-be-registered All Progressives Congress.

Addressing journalists in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti state capital, Mr. Fani-Kayode said he thought it was time to leave the “suffocating” party because he could not continue to share a platform with elements who could not accept the outcome of a transparent election that had 35 governors as voters.

The former minister also spoke about other reasons that led to his exit from the PDP and his grouse with the current administration.
