The clinic is a promise kept by the FCT minister.
The Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, on Monday established a staff clinic to service employees of the administration.
In a statement signed by Badaru Yakasai, Head of Public Relations, Health Human Services Secretariat, HHSS, the FCT Secretary of HHSS, Demola Onakomaiya, who commissioned the clinic, said that the initiative is aimed at improving the productivity of the staff of the administration and spur them to greater heights.
Stating that the establishment of the staff clinic is a promise kept by the FCT Minister, Bala Mohammed, Mr. Onakomaiya commended the effort of the Abuja administration in providing qualitative healthcare services for staff of the administration.
He explained that clinic had become necessary seeing as the bulk of the workforce of the various FCT secretariats is located within the Area 11 Complex and numerous health challenges may negatively impact on the productivity of the workers in view of the man-hours spent in accessing healthcare elsewhere.
Mr. Onakomaiya said that the health of the workforce is a strong indicator in gauging the economic potential of a country globally, adding that the FCT is a near perfect representation of that index.
