The heroes will serve as inspiration to their communities.
The Kudirat Initiative for Democracy, KIND, in collaboration with the Festzer Institute is organizing a peace project aimed at seeking “exemplars of love and forgiveness in a quest for lasting peace in Nigeria.”
In a press statement signed by KIND’s project administrator, Steve Aborisade, the organizations said that the project has been designed to identify and highlight the works of unspoken heroes from the six geopolitical zones of the country. It is hoped that these heroes through their works will “serve as an inspiration to other communities in ways that will transcend primordial sentiments of ethnicity and religious leanings and further promote and advance the capacity of our people to love and forgive.”
Members of the public- individuals and groups- have been asked to nominate worthy individuals through this website: http://www.
KIND was founded by Hafsat Abiola-Costello in honour of her mother, Kudirat Abiola who was killed on June 4, 1996.
