The disposal of the ammunition is to prevent possible explosions.
The Nigerian Army said on Tuesday that it would dispose unserviceable ammunition and explosives in its Ibadan base between Wednesday and Thursday.
The 2 Base Ammunition Depot in collaboration with the 42 Division Engineers stated this in Ibadan. The exercise tagged, “EX ANGAMA”, would take place at the Letmauck Cantonment, Mokola, Ibadan.
A statement signed by Adamu Yahusa said the exercise was being carried out to prevent possible explosion and the attendant danger to lives and property.
It said precautionary security measures had been put in place to ensure safety of lives and properties.
The statement advised residents to stay away from the area and not to panic on hearing heavy sounds of explosions.
