The Kano Ministry of Health confirmed this in a statement.
Kano State Government on Thursday announced the closure of an illegal kin treatment clinic in Malam Kato Square, Sabon Gari, Kano, which was operating without government’s approval.
A statement from the Ministry of Health, signed by the Public Relations Officer, Ismail Gwammaja, said the clinic was closed by the ministry’s committee on Private Health Institutions.
It said that the committee found the owner of the clinic, one Ibrahim Bela, guilty of operating at an unregistered premises, where he claimed to be treating persons with skin problems, “which is beyond his limit”.
The statement said the disciplinary committee, chaired by the ministry’s Director of Planning, Research and Statistic, Dauda Kanawa, ordered the immediate closure of the clinic.
The committee also ordered the continued closure of Shukura Clinic and Maternity in Gwale Local Government Area due to lack of appropriate personnel to man it.
It said the amenity had failed to produce its chief medical director and other relevant officers to the disciplinary committee.
