The ACN in Abuja had accused the PDP of rigging the last local council elections.
The suit filed by the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, to challenge the results of the council polls in Abaji Area Council of Abuja will continue on Thursday at the Federal High Court, Abuja.
The ACN is challenging the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP in the polls alleging electoral manipulations.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had declared the PDP winner in Abaji; saying the party polled 8, 933 to defeat the ACN which had 8,101 votes. The PDP also won in four of the remaining area councils in Abuja, with the ANPP winning the remaining one.
The ACN’s case was first heard at the court on April 22, but was adjourned to Tuesday before it was again adjourned to Thursday.
The party accused the PDP of rigging the election and using security agents to intimidate party supporters, killing one and injuring two others during the elections. It claims the elections were not as free and fair as portrayed by the Federal Government and said that security agents in Abuja were used as instrument by the PDP to distort the elections.
