PDP boss says he wants to re-organise his office for service deliver.
The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Bamanga Tukur, has fired all his political and personal aides.
In a statement on Friday in Abuja, Mr. Tukur said he took the action because of the need to re-organise his office for service delivery.
This is the second time the PDP boss will be firing his aides in the last one year. In June last year, Mr. Tukur fired his first Principal Secretary, Habu Fari, who was accused of usurping the functions of the suspended National Secretary, Olagunsoye Oyinlola. Mr. Oyinlola was later sacked by a Federal High Court early this year.
Those affected by Thursday’s sack are the Principal Secretary, Ibrahim Ida- a former senator; Political Adviser, Ahmed Gusau; Special Adviser on Electoral Matters, Saidu Kumo- also a former senator; Special Adviser on Media, Ujudud Sheriff; and Special Adviser on Economic Matters, O. Akindele.
A total of 12 special advisers and one principal secretary were affected in the sack.
The statement quoted Mr. Tukur as saying that; “after one year in office, the political journey was interesting, challenging and I am better equipped in the general understanding and approaches of the operating system.’’
Mr. Tukur, however, thanked the aides for their devotion, patience, cooperation and endurance in the course of serving the party.
