Details of the incident are still sketchy, but PREMIUM TIMES learnt the gunmen shot at Yohanna Yakubu as he drove towards Zango Katab, his hometown in Southern Kaduna.
Mr. Yakubu’s wife and daughter were also said to be in the car but were reportedly unhurt.
Mr. Yakubu, 47, was until his death a staff of the Kaduna Refinery and Petrochemical Company, a subsidiary of the NNPC.
The police has confirmed the incident but however said the late engineer was killed by armed robbers who operated along the Kaduna-Kachia highway on Sunday, ambushing and robbing travellers.
