A member of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti State was murdered in the state.
The Police in Ekiti on Tuesday invited the Chairman of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, in the state, Jide Awe, over the murder of one Ayodele Jeje on Saturday night.
The 37-year-old Mr. Jeje was a member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party in the state.
Mr. Jeje was killed in Erinjiyan Ekiti in Ekiti West Local Government Area of the state.
The spokesman of the police command in the state, Victor Babayemi, confirmed that the ACN chairman was invited “for fact finding” over the incident.
“Mr. Jide Awe was invited for fact finding in respect of the killing in Erinjiyan Ekiti at the weekend,” he said.
Two other persons, Julianah Adewumi and her brother, Gbenga, were also shot and injured by the assassins.
Mr. Awe hails from Erinjiyan Ekiti where he is a chieftaincy title holder.
The Chairman of the PDP in the state, Makanjuola Ogundipe, on Tuesday commended the Commissioner of Police, Sontoye Wakama, over the arrest of two persons in connection with the incident.
