The experts want to develop a project for the care of children living with cerebral palsy.
Specialists involved in developmental delays in children and special education will on April 11 meet in Lagos over the progress recorded in the area of identification and management of children living with Cerebral Palsy in Nigeria.
In a statement released by President of Benola Group, a Cerebral Palsy Initiative, Femi Gbadebo, the two-day meeting scheduled to hold at the Peninsula Hotel in Lekki will include experts from major institutions in Nigeria. It will bring specialists in developmental delays in children, special education and further analyse the positive evidence – based result recorded in identification as well as management of children living with cerebral palsy in the country.
These experts are expected to work together with Benola group towards developing a project for the care of children living with cerebral palsy and their families.
“We believe it is essential to have a blueprint to facilitate clear communication among all interest groups involved in the care of these special children. It will also guide government in directing services and systems which are responsive to the needs defined by children with chronic and disabling conditions and their families,” Mr. Gbadebo said.
