Jonathan visits Yobe

The Nigerian President is also scheduled to visit Borno since the Boko Haram crisis.

President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday visited Yobe State, one of the two states mostly affected by Boko Haram insurgency.

The president is also scheduled to visit neighbouring Borno State, the hotbed of the insurgent group, on Friday.

The Nigerian president has been criticised by the opposition and other Nigerians for not visiting the two states since the insurgency took a more violent approach after the 2011 elections.
