The police at Wuse Zone 3 Division, Abuja, are searching for six suspected armed robbers who escaped from a crime scene on Monday.

A police officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity on Wednesday in Abuja, alleged that the suspects were robbing motorists and passersby near Arewa Suits in Central Area at about 9 p.m. when a team of policemen promptly engaged them in a shoot-out in which one was killed and two others were injured.

“The dead member of the group has been taken to Wuse General Hospital’s mortuary and has yet to be identified,’’ the police source said

The source said that two cutlasses and other weapons were recovered from the scene of the robbery.
