Abstract: The bomb failed to detonate.
Gunmen on Friday night attacked a mosque in Bukuru Expressway, Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State, the Special Task Force, STF, has said.
In a statement on Saturday by its spokesperson, Salisu Mustapha, the STF said the attack took place at about 8:30 p.m.
The attackers first threw a hand grenade into the mosque, which failed to detonate. Thereafter, they fired shots in the air and escaped.
No casualty was reported.
Mr. Mustapha said the STF had cordoned off the area and is closely monitoring the place.
Investigations have also commenced while residents were asked to report any suspicious persons or activities in the area to security officials.
Plateau State, North Central Nigeria, is bedeviled with ethno-religious crisis with hundreds of people killed in various attacks.
