PDP happy with Cross River Governor, Imoke’s return

The Cross River State Governor was away from Nigeria for a long time.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, said it has received with joy the news of the return of the Cross River State Governor, Liyel Imoke, who has been out of the country for over three months for treatment of an undisclosed ailment.

The governor arrived in Nigeria on Friday after spending over three months in a foreign hospital for undisclosed ailments.

The party said the governor is now ready to continue the good works he has been doing in Cross River State.

The PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, in a statement on Saturday, said his party missed the governor while he was away but is now overjoyed that he is back on the saddle.

“The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP welcomes the Executive Governor of Cross River State, Senator Liyel Imoke back to the country after his ten years of articulated leave.

“The PDP family missed the governor while he was away but we are now elated that he is back on the saddle. We are happy that after his thorough medical check, the governor is now fully recharged and refilled to continue the good works he has been doing in the state,” the statement said.

The party thanked Cross River State officials including the Acting Governor, the leadership of the party in the state, the State House of Assembly, and other political office holders for their loyalty and commitment in ensuring the smooth running of the state during the period the governor was away.

It also thanked the people of Cross River State and all Nigerians for their prayers for the governor even as it restated the commitment of the PDP led- administration to continue to focus on the welfare of all Nigerians at all times.
