Four police officer have been shot dead in two separate attacks on compounds housing expatriate staff working with Triacta Construction Ltd in Taraba state, reports say.
Witnesses told the BBC that some gunmen, Wednesday evening, attacked a compound housing Lebanese staff of Triacta in Tella Town, killing two policemen who were guarding the compound.
“The gunmen came around 9 p.m. and opened fire on the compound killing two policemen,” a witness said.
A similar attack also reportedly occurred on Monday evening in Mutum Biyu, a nearby town to Tella.
Witnesses also said the gunmen opened fire on the expatriates’ compound, killed the two policemen on duty and took away their weapons.
They however said none of the foreigners in the compound was killed or abducted.
Spokesperson of the police in the state command, Amos Olaoye, who confirmed the two incidents said he has not been fully briefed on the attacks.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
