Governor Aliyu of Niger State appoints new persons to his cabinet.
Governor Babangida Aliyu of Niger State on Monday announced the appointment of a former Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Idris Ndako, as the new Secretary to the State Government, SSG.
He also appointed the Permanent Secretary of Niger State Law Reform Commission, Abbas Bello, as the new Head of the state’s civil service, while the Director General in charge of the Millennium Development Goals, MDG office, Joshua Bawa, is the new Chief of Staff, Government House.
A statement signed by Governor Aliyu’s spokesperson, Danladi Ndayebo, said the Governor has also approved the appointment of a former member of the Niger State House of Assembly, Mohammed Usman, as Deputy Chief of Staff in the Governor’s Office.
Mr. Ndayebo said the changes are in furtherance of the ongoing efforts to reposition and strengthen the Governor Aliyu-led PDP government for enhanced service delivery and the attainment of Vision 3:2020.
Born in January 1965, the new Secretary to the State Government holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the Bayero University, Kano. The SSG-designate was until his appointment the Commissioner of Planning and Deputy Chairman, Niger State Planning Commission.
The government said the new appointees would be sworn in later in the week.
