After 19 years, Nigeria’s Super Eagles, on Sunday regained its leadership of African football, defeating Burkina Faso in a well-fought final of the African Nations Cup in South Africa.
The Eagles stayed through with a first-half goal from midfielder, Sunday Mba, frustrating advances from the Stallions of Burkina Faso, and never giving up trying for more goals.
The win is Nigeria’s third after taking the tile in 1980 and 1994.
