Gunmen on Friday morning shot about 6 polio vaccinators in Nassarawa Local Government Area of Kano State.

The vaccinators went for the usual house to house polio vaccination when they were attacked.

Details surrounding their deaths are still sketchy. Attempts by PREMIUM TIMES to reach the police proved abortive as the spokesperson for the Kano State Police Command did not respond to phone calls.

Nigeria, particularly northern states, is one of the few countries still suffering from polio.
