The NSCDC has warned youth to be wary of fraudulent recruitment exercise being conducted in the name of NSCDC
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, in Ekiti State on Monday said that fraudsters use the agency’s portal to defraud unemployed youth in the state by running fake recruitment.
The spokesman of the NSCDC in Ekiti State, Tolulope Afolabi, said this in a statement issued on Monday in Ado-Ekiti.
“People involved, either directly or indirectly should desist in their own interest as our under-cover officers are in town checking computer systems for the illegal business,’’ he said.
It said the agency was regularly being inundated with reports of how fraudsters had been swindling victims of money under the guise of job offers.
“The command hereby states clearly that there is no recruitment exercise going on anywhere in the country in the name of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps,’’ the statement said.
It urged members of the public to be wary of the activities of the fraudsters, saying the corps would inform Nigerians anytime there was a recruitment exercise.
The agency said it would prosecute any cyber cafe used to perpetrate the fraud along with the fraudsters to hack into the agency’s portal.
