JTF says no death, injury in Kano explosion

Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau may be dead

An explosion has been reported at Ramin Gangare near a famous drinking parlour at Badawa area of Kano.

The explosion occurred around 7 p.m. on Sunday.

The explosion occurred less that 48 hours after two other explosions in the ancient city

The JTF spokesman, Capt. Ikedichi Iweha, confirmed the incident, but however, said nobody was injured.

He said it was a small can of Improvised Explosive Devise (IED), which was planted near a local drinking parlour in Badawa that exploded around 7:20 pm.

“It was a small IED that was planted at the local drinking parlour  and it did not kill or injure anybody,’’ he said.

No one has claimed responsibility for the explosion but the extremist Boko Haram is suspected.
