At a tournament organized International Development Agencies, a man died.
Reports reaching PREMIUM TIMES indicate that a staff of the Federal Health International, FHI, slumped and died on Tuesday evening while playing football at a tournament organised by the Federation of International Development Agencies.
The man, playing as a member of the staff team of FHI against staff of the United Nations, slumped during the game, in Abuja, gasped for breath, and was convulsing.
A witness said medical personnel attended to the deceased but were hampered by lack of adequate equipment as there was no ambulance service immediately.
The victim eventually died at the hospital he was taken to.
The Federation of International Development Agencies include organisations such as the USAID, United Nations, and the British Council. The football competition was organised in honour of colleagues who died during the 2011 UN bomb blast in Abuja.
