Meni, Jonathan, the president’s half brother is dead.
It’s mixed feelings at the Presidential Villa, Abuja as President Goodluck Jonathan’s half brother, Meni Jonathan, died, Tuesday Morning, same day the President turned 55.
Meni Jonathan passed away at the Aso Villa clinic at about 11:45a.m. as arrangements were being made to move him to the National Hospital, Abuja.
A presidency source revealed that Meni Jonathan flew into Abuja with the president last week, after the president went to see his house in Otueke, Bayelsa State. The source said the deceased seemed fit as at Sunday.
Efforts by PREMIUM TIMES to reach the Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Reuben Abati, proved futile. Mr. Abati did not return calls or respond to emails sent to him.
The deceased reportedly served as the head of Otueke Council of Chiefs before his death.
Mr. Abati later confirmed the death in a response to our enquiry.
