Your Facebook Timeline will change soon. See how the expected Timeline looks.
The new Timeline puts all posts in a single column on the left and activity updates, friends, places, apps and other sections are on the narrower right column.
The current design has posts unequally arranged on both sides forcing users to look back and forth on the page as they scrolled through to read their stream.
Some users found the two-column layout frustrating.
“With this design, the line down the center has been removed, making the profile look less like a timeline,” Inside Facebook who first revealed the updated design said.
The new design will not be radically different, the timeline of dates still exists in the top right of the page where users can jump to a particular month or year.
The striking difference in the test design is that posts are wider while other updates like “Recent Activity,” “Friends,” “Places” and those for any Open Graph apps are all to the right, narrower.
The Timeline appears blank as you scroll down rather than filling in with status updates or wall posts.
