Police defuse bomb at Minna Motor Park

Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar

The explosive was first sighted by a civilian who called the attention of others

The Bomb Disposal Unit of the Nigerian Police Force, Monday, diffused an Improvise Explosive Device hidden in a polythene bag in Minna, the Niger State capital.

Reports from the area said a passerby saw the suspicious polythene bag at the Abdulsalami Abubakar motor park and called the attention of people around, who subsequently informed the Police.

Had the IED, which was ready for detonation, exploded, the casualty rate could have been very high as the explosive was placed directly opposite the main gate of the park, which witnesses heavy traffic on Monday mornings.
