The senior lawyer is being held at the Port Harcourt office of the EFCC
A presidential candidate in the last elections of the Nigeria Bar Association, Blessing Ukiri, has been detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in Port Harcourt.
Mr. Ukiri, sources at the commission said, is being detained on money laundering charges being investigated by the commission.
The Senior lawyer is a 1984 graduate of the University of Benin and holds a Masters degree in Law. He was called to the Nigerian bar in 1985. He lost the July NBA presidential election to Okechukwu Wali, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria.
