Ogun Polytechnic suspends three staff for N100m fraud, invite EFCC

The staff allegedly defrauded the school of N100 million

Some non–academic staff of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, MAPOLY, in Ogun State, may be arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, as recommended by the authorities of the Polytechnic.

The polytechnic said the three staff – Jekinmose Odeogbola, Liafeez Egbewuni and Taiwo Samsideen- allegedly defrauded the school of N100 million.

The Public Relations Officer of the institution, Sulaiman Adebiyi, in a statement, said a panel set up by management had found the officials wanting and consequently suspended them.

“The Staff Disciplinary Committee found the officers guilty and recommended that their case be brought before the EFCC in addition to their indefinite suspension,” Mr. Adebiyi said.

He said the decision to suspend the accused persons was taken by the school’s management, after which the EFCC was called in to recoup the looted funds.
