55 feared dead in Kogi boat mishap

Cause of accident and exact number of casualties are still unconfirmed.

About 55 persons died on Sunday after their boat capsized near Lokoja, Kogi State.

The spokesperson of the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, Yushau Shuaib, said he heard about the incident, but is yet to be officially briefed.

He however said officials of the agency have been dispatched to the area to confirm the exact number of casualties and cause of the accident.
