Unknown gunmen on tricycle shot at people playing a game of cards in Bauchi

Gunmen on a tricycle popularly known as Keke NAPEP, Sunday, opened fire on some people playing cards in Zango area of Bauchi metropolis, killing eight of them.

Five of the victims died instantly, while three others died in hospital.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mohammed Ladan, confirmed the incident and said nine other persons were injured in the attack.

He said the attack was carried out by three people riding on a tricycle.

Mr. Ladan said no one or group had claimed responsibility for the attack and that the command had commenced investigation into the incident.

He called on anybody with information on the attackers and their motive to contact the police.
