Israeli police said Thursday in Tel Aviv that they had uncovered more than 10,000 knives, swords and stun guns in a Christmas decorations container from China intended for Palestinians.
Police Spokesman Micky Rosenfeld, said they believed that the weapons were meant to be used by Palestinians in clashes with Israeli security forces.
He disclosed that the goods, discovered last week at Israel’s Ashdod Port, were to be shipped to Beit Hanina, an Arab neighborhood in East Jerusalem.
Rosenfeld said that five suspects had been arrested in connection with the find. (dpa/NAN)
