Kenyan government has confirmed that 62 people died from the attack.
Three Kenyan soldiers were on Tuesday confirmed dead following injuries sustained in the Westgate terrorist attack.
The Kenyan Ministry of Interior through its twitter account, @InteriorKE, confirmed that the three soldiers had died from injuries sustained during the clash with the terrorists that took shoppers at the Westgate Mall hostage since Saturday.
The ministry also stated that eight other soldiers are still undergoing treatment. It condoled with the families and friends of the deceased.
“We’ve lost 3 heroes. 3 KDF soldiers have succumbed to their injuries, 8 are still under treatment. #WithOneAccord; Three KDF soldiers have succumbed to their injuries. We condole with them; say a prayer for their families and friends,” the ministry tweeted Al- Shabab, an Islamic terrorist group in Somalia, had claimed responsibility for the attack saying it attacked Kenya in retaliation for the country’s intervention in the Somalia uprising.
The Kenyan government has confirmed that 62 people have been killed during the attack, saying its security forces have taken control of all floors of the mall and remaining hostages have been rescued.
