Popular comic actor, Charles Awurum, has lampooned Nollywood producers for casting popular cross-dresser, Bobrisky, in movies.
The actor bared his mind in a video posted on Instagram on Wednesday.
His post partly read, “Nollywood, greed has led you to do anything for money including featuring Bobrisky in a movie. How can you feature a man who has changed himself to a woman, bleached his skin and is now giving small boys money to become gay?
Bobrisky is now sponsoring a colony of gay men yet you cast him in your movie?”
The actor was visibly angry that Bobrisky landed a lead role in a new movie titled ‘Bobrisky in love’ released in April.
The cross-dresser starred alongside established actresses, Queen Nwokoye and Anita Joseph.
The new movie was directed by Ken Steve Anuka and produced by Basil Nneji.
In response, Bobrisky, called the actor “poor and useless” in a now-deleted Instagram post.
This is not the first time the controversial character would be featured in a Nigerian movie.
He portrayed a cross-dresser in a 2015 Yoruba movie titled ‘Ojuloge Obirin’.
The movie was produced by Tayo Sobola.
In March, Bobrisky was also featured in ‘Skin,’ a 90 minute long documentary on colourism produced by Beverly Naya.
He expressed regrets at whitening his skin in the documentary.
The project was screened at the 2019 iREPRESENT International Documentary Film Festival.
