Yoruba actress, Ronke Oshodi-Oke, has berated her colleagues who show off on social media anytime they buy a car or a house.

The 43-year-old actress aired her views in an Instagram live session in the early hours of Friday.

She said, “Before you show off, first look at the condition of your home. Have you ever seen a banker flaunting his or her car on social media?

You bought a car, you put it on social media. Even those that are not up to 40 years are now lying on social media that they are 40. You bought a house, you put it on social media. Why?

“Why are we doing all that? Actor Odunlade Adekola bought a Range Rover and nobody knew anything, since he has brain and (is) wise. This one bought a car, it’s on social media, that one bought something, it’s on social media. Is social media our life?”.

In the last few weeks, several Yoruba actors and actresses have flaunted luxury rides which they claimed to have bought.

A Yoruba actor, Olatayo Omokade aka Ijebu, and actress, Nkechi Blessing, are the latest car owners in Nollywood.

They have posted photos of their latest acquisition on Instagram much to the delight of their fans.

These constant showoff on Instagram has prompted fans to ponder about the source of their wealth.

This is not unconnected to the fact that the Yoruba movie industry churns out a high number of films while it’s practitioners are reportedly the least paid.
