The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) on Tuesday in Lagos announced the suspension of budding actress, Crystabel Goddy, for allegedly biting a colleague, Princess Chineke, on set.
Goddy, an up-and-coming actress was said to have bitten the colleague in the lap in Lagos last week.
It was reported that the actress had a confrontation with her fellow thespian at their hotel where the incident happened.
A statement issued by the AGN’s Public Relations Officer, Moji Oyetayo, stated that the president of the Guild, Ibinabo Fiberesima, described the development as “a dastardly act”.
“The Guild and Associations in Nollywood have been duly notified of the suspension.
“The national and state task forces have been kept on alert to disengage her from all sets pending when the suspension will be lifted.
“The guild has set up a high powered committee headed by the National Chief Whip, Empress Eneh, to investigate the immediate and remote causes of the matter.
“Crystabel shall remain on suspension until the outcome of the investigation as stipulated by the constitution of the Guild,’’ the statement said.
In the statement, Fiberesima cautioned against “act of cannibalism” and urged all members to make discipline their watchword.
“We are the mirror of the society,’’ she stressed.
