India pledges to assist Nigeria’s Nollywood

India’s Acting High Commissioner in Nigeria, Kaisar Alam, on Sunday said the commission will facilitate collaboration between Nigeria’s movie industry, Nollywood, and its Indian counterpart, Bollywood.

Mr. Alam told the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja that the two countries’ film industries had a lot to contribute to their Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

He said that stakeholders in the film industries from Bollywood and Nollywood could partner or exchange programmes that would yield mutual benefits and promote better understanding between the two countries.

According to him, India is the second largest producer of films in the world, next only to Hollywood.

“Indian films are very popular in several countries like Russia, China, Indonesia; and even in Nigeria.

“India can use its more than 100 years of experience in Bollywood to assist Nigeria if the people in the industry can communicate exactly what they need to us.

“The people in the industry have to come forward to tell us exactly where they need assistance and in what form.

“The film industry contributes significantly to the GDP of India. I understand that Nollywood also contributes significantly to the GDP of Nigeria,’’ he said.

He said collaboration between Nigeria and India in the movie industries will boost both country’s economies.

Balanced write up, but you did a lot of damage when you campaigned for Buhari, you knew he was no good, and CAN NEVER change, especially you. So, I don’t forgive you for what you did. This little piece is good, but it doesn’t atone for your wickedness in electing Buhari, no!

    • kalgo

An intellectually deficient comment, it’s not surprising…brains are only applied for negative and retrogressive pursuits in this geographical space called Nigeria.

      • AFRICANER

Surely, you jest. You’ve got a lot of nerves…

    Thanks Jaafar.

Please enlighten your Northern fanatics to look at the real is issues which mainly is governance failure.

By all indices the North is poorer than the South. They should worry more about Buhari’s FAILURE TO BE AN EFFECTIVE LEADER.

The conspiracy of silence is dangerous.

The hypocrisy of northern Muslims is uncanny, all those rich gals, or shld I say rich peepu pickins will be snapping pretty pics without as much as a skull cap, they will go and comment, beautiful wallahi, pretty gal, kin to kyau, kina kama da babanki, ma sha Allah, fine gal, da inada kudi da Na aure ki etc, let an ordinary poor Northerner post a pic like that, de will attack d hell outta her, I av noticed dis also, u see d likes of gumsu abatcha and other rich gals studying in Dubai, uk , us etc that doesn’t even cover at all on IG they will sing praises only. Now d first lady that even wear cap is been attacked… And most of the attackers will see married clearly written on a fb profile and even see your kids pics, but still slide into inbox to disturb u, take codein and defile young gals in their areas but will be claiming saint….long hisssssss
