A high point of British Prime Minister, Theresa May’s visit to Nigeria was the fact that she wore a jacket designed by Nigerian designer, Emmy Kasbit.
The custom-made Akwete jacket is from Emmy Kasbit’s Spring 18 Collection.
The fashion community has not stopped talking about it and so have Nigerians. The lucky designer, real name Emmanuel Okoro, is one of Nigeria’s most promising designers.
He emerged as one of the top five finalists at the Lagos Fashion & Design Week Fashion Focus 2017. He has also been showcasing his collections at the LFWD. He began his brand in 2013.
Ms. May has also expressed delight about the custom-made jacket. She captioned it, “I was delighted to meet @emmykasbit who designed the jacket I wore.”
The designer has also been sharing photos of the Prime Minister on Instagram.
