President Muhammadu Buhari’s wife, Aisha, has expressed profound gratitude to friends and well-wishers who joined her in prayer during and after the wedding of her daughter, Zahra.
Mrs. Buhari, who expressed her appreciation on her Facebook page on Tuesday, prayed that God would assist mothers in Nigeria to witness the successful weddings of their daughters.
”On behalf of my family, I express my profound gratitude to friends and well-wishers who joined me to celebrate the wedding of my daughter, Zahra.
”It is my prayer that God will make it possible for us to all witness same with our children, thank you and God bless us all,” Mrs. Buhari said.
President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday gave out Zahra in marriage to Ahmed Indimi, a businessman from Borno.
The wedding Fatiha took place after the Deputy Chief Imam of the National Mosque, Abuja, Ibrahim Makari, led other Muslim Ummah to a two Raka’at Jumma’at Prayer.
A representative of the Indimi family, whose name was not disclosed, paid 12 gold coins which was converted and valued at N250, 000, for the dowry.
The Sarkin Fulanin Daura, Yusuf Sani, gave out Zahra on behalf of the Buhari family.
Mr. Buhari, who arrived National Mosque at about 2:00 p.m. was accompanied by the President of Guinea, Alpha Conde, and other aides of the president.
The bride is the seventh child of President Buhari.
She runs an NGO called ACE Charity Foundation, which primarily offers free medical care for people with sickle cell anemia.
The groom (Ahmed Indimi) expressed his happiness and thanked friends and well-wishers who took time to celebrate with them.
Dignitaries who attended the wedding included former Vice Presidents Atiku Abubakar and Namadi Sambo, Senate President, Bukola Saraki and Bisi Akande.
The dignitaries also included Gov. Rauf Aregbesola of Osun, Gov. Nasir El-rufai of Kaduna State, Gov. Umaru Almakura of Nasarawa, Gov. Yahaya Bello and Gov. Aminu Masari of Kogi and Sokoto states respectively among others.
The event also witnessed the presence of business mogul, Aliko Dangote, former EFCC boss, Nuhu Ribadu, Ali-Modu Sheriff, and APC National leader, Bola Tinubu.
